MUNCH (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information in Australia when you sign up to hear from us and take part in our pilot drop. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Information we collect

When you subscribe or interact with our site, we may collect:

  • Email address (required)
  • Name (optional)
  • Subscription details (date/time of signup, consent status)
  • Basic technical information from your device (e.g. IP address, browser type) and cookie data (see “Cookies” below)

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Send updates, news and announcements about MUNCH and the pilot drop
  • Share stories, content and product updates we think you’ll enjoy
  • Run basic analytics (e.g. opens/clicks) to improve our communications

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Our service providers

We run our website on Shopify and send marketing emails via our email service provider (currently Shopify Email). These providers process personal information on our behalf to host the site, store subscriber details, send emails, manage unsubscribes and measure performance.

Storage, security & retention

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access or disclosure (APP 11). We keep your details while you’re subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we’ll stop sending emails and will delete or de-identify your information within a reasonable period unless we need to retain it for legal or compliance reasons.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process information on servers located outside Australia (for example, in the United States, Canada or the EU). Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient will handle it in a way that is consistent with the APPs (APP 8).

Cookies & analytics

Our site (and email service) may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to remember your preferences, measure engagement and improve performance. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, though this may affect site functionality.

Direct marketing & your choices

  • You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails.
  • You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and request correction if it’s inaccurate, out-of-date or incomplete (APPs 12–13).
